Tin Forest

In our English lessons, we are reading ‘The Tin Forest’.

The author is Helen Ward and the illustrator is Wayne Anderson.

It is all about an old man who lives in a rubbish dump. He dreams about living in a jungle, so he picks up the rubbish and makes it into something wonderful- a tin forest! One day he sees a toucan and feeds it. When the toucan disappears, the man is upset and searches everywhere for it.

The next day, the toucan is there with his mate. The old man was amazed that there are two living animals in his tin forest! The toucans dropped seeds from their beaks a little shoot begins to grow from the ground. The shoot grows bigger, and a forest emerges.

The old man feels amazed because his dream has come true!

I enjoyed this book so much that I would give it 5 stars! *****
