The Romans

                                                        In our History lessons  we learnt about the Romans!                                                                 

We are having fun!! Have you heard about the Romans? When you are in Year 4 you will learn all about them! Don’t worry if you haven’t learnt about them yet- I will tell you who they are!

The ancient Romans were a civilisation which began in Italy in 753 B.C..

Rome was led by a king. Later, they got rid of kings and the Roman Republic began in 509 B.C. The first Roman emperor (Augustus) came to power in 44 B.C.. Emperors rules for around 500 years until the Roman Empire ended in 476A.D

The Romans also invaded Britain. Do you know how the Romans changed Britain? Well your about to find out! 

They changed Britain by bringing:

• animals,
• money,
• theatres,
• houses,
• roads,
• baths
• and underfloor heating!

When we went to the Roman Museum half of us looked around and the others touched some Roman things! I was amazed to learn that some Romans brought games. One of the games was like noughts and crosses!
