Mark Rothko (An Artist’s Story)

Mark Rothko was a painter born in Latvia in 1903. But in fear of his older brothers being drafted into the Russian army, his family fled to the USA. When he was 58 he painted this Painting: Orange, Red Yellow

Which (I don’t know why)  sold for a whopping 86 Million US dollars  in 2012!

According to Rothko himself, he said he didn’t care about its quality -only the size. Orange, Red, Yellow is huge at 2.04 meters long and 2.34 meters tall.
