Eurovision Winners!

I’m sure many if you have heard of Eurovision. It’s a song contest that takes place every year with places in Europe.

Whichever country wins, the next Eurovision will take place in that country next year. Last year, Ukraine won but, since there in war currently going on in Ukraine, it had to take place here in the UK.

But the winner of THIS year is Sweden! Loreen won with her song Tattoo.

(I’m sure you know this already) So next year Sweden will host.  This victory will mean a lot to Sweden because they also won in 1974. Next year, it will be 50 years since a Swedish band  called Abba won the Eurovision with the song Waterloo.

Anyways according the the Eurovision website (🙄) the UK was 2nd to last this year.😭 The UK’s entry was by Mae Muller. She sang a song called, ‘Instead I Wrote a Song’.

Eurovision has been going on for a long time- from 1956 to 2023. Of course, they couldn’t do it in 2020 because of corona virus.
