Berry the Bear

There once was a bear whose  name was Berry. However, Berry was no ordinary bear- because Berry could fly!

Wherever Berry went, people made fun of him. He was the only one in his village who could fly. He felt really lonely until the day he met Sky…

Sky had just moved into the house opposite Berry and Sky could also fly like Berry- but Sky was a rabbit ! Every day, they played in the woods. It didn’t matter that they weren’t the same species. Their favorite game was flying tag. They flew around the woods so fast -even faster than a cheetah! Before they went to bed, they gave each other a hug and then they flew home together . Things seemed perfect. But one day, Berry woke up and Sky WAS GONE!

Berry was devastated, he ran around the woods looking in every nook and cranny . He shouted “SKY! SKY, PLEASE! PLEASE COME HOME- I REALLY MISS YOU!!!!”

He ran back to his house and said to his mum and dad, “Sky is missing!”  Then he bellowed, “PLEASE HELP ME! She is my best friend!”.

“Okay sweetie, I’ll help you look. After all, she is your best friend!” said Berry’s mum – who was called Holly.

Berry’s dad – who was called Benjamin – added, “Me too!”.

They locked the door and the adventure began…

 

As they were leaving Berry had butterflies in his tummy. He was very worried and kept asking himself, “What’s happened to her? What if we don’t find her?”

His mum said, “I am sure we will find her “. Berry nodded in fear. Little did they know Sky would be in big trouble…

 

Sky had been taken to a fox’s lair. Dead trees and bushes surrounded the lair; the sun never came out in this area of the woods. Sky was so scared. This was the most dangerous area of the forest. All sorts of scary things happened there- but not as strange as this…

The trees started to sway and creak. Suddenly the trees started whispering: “We are coming for you…”

 

Feeling hope -and no more fear- Sky’s wings start to flutter and lift her up into the candy-floss clouds. She saw a vision of a familiar face -and a sloth (a group) of bears. IT WAS BERRY! Sky landed! They hugged in relief and were so so so happy that they found each other.

 

But then… The sky turned black and a wall of fog appeared, separating Berry from his parents…They all prayed to God for him to save their life. Suddenly, a red ribbon of hope appeared on all there rises. The wall of fog disappeared and the sun beamed out of the clouds and the sky turned blue. They found berry’s parents. Then they all went inside and had a bowl of porridge.

 

Sky went home and explained to her mum and dad what happened and everything when back to normal.
