The Lady of Shalott

In our English lessons, we have been learning about the lady of Shalott. She is a fair maiden who is cursed to neither look out the window nor to leave her tower.  It is a very interesting and intriguing poem although it does not have a happy ending. Based on this poem we have written:

• A setting description
• A character description
• A diary entry
• An internal monologue
• A narrative recount

I found this poem very interesting for many reasons:

• It is written in a certain way so that you read it in a way that it flows
• It has an obvious rhyming scheme
• It describes in a great detail

I hope my article has inspired others to read The Lady of Shalott and explore its content in further detail.
